Dr. Cassano is a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Informatics who is working as a Nurse Informatics educator for the Saint Helena Napa Valley Hospital part of Adventist Health. Her current role incorporates and develops strategies to improve the quality and delivery of nurse education. Dr. Cassano’s insights into clinical workflow and expertise in clinical informatics represent critical sources of intelligence for lifecycle management, while her empathetic work style and natural facility as an educator contribute in a powerful fashion to the adoption and utilization of innovative healthcare technology by promoting engagement of clinicians, patients, and non-professional caregivers alike.

Dr. Cassano has 28 years nursing experience. She earned her BSN at Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2010. As a Registered Nurse, she is a multifaceted clinical and business professional deeply skilled in emergency & chronic care nursing, medical informatics and documentation, clinical workflow analysis, mapping & improvement, professional training, and industry analysis. Dr. Cassano has been integral to the design, development, deployment, & commercialization of health information technology.

Dr. Cassano earned her MSN in Informatics at Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2012 and she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the Chamberlain University in 2016. In 2015 Dr. Cassano was recognized as the “Top Nurse in New Jersey” where she was rewarded by the International Nurses Association. Dr. Cassano published numerous articles about the clinical documentation specialist role and nursing informatics in various nursing magazines including HIMSS, Advance for Nurses, and American Nurses Today.
